Parkrun
This week’s run at Victoria Park produced an abundance of new personal best milestones for the Ashford Striders team.
Justin Burden finished this week’s Parkrun in 28th place overall in a new personal best time of 22:21. Linda-Jean Delport also ran a new personal best of 23:23 to finish as 4th female. Josh Whiten also ran a new PB in a time of 23:40. Jamie Bartlett (24:35) and Jason Sanders (24:50) also ran sub-25 minute times. Reece Corner was next home in 25:26, followed by Stephen Rumsey (26:28) and Tamsin Ritchie (26:53), the latter who was also a top 20 female finisher this week. Hazel Forrester ran a new PB with a time of 28:30. Emma Jeffery (29:01), Rachel Brisley (29:06), Rachel Forrester (29:08 – new PB) and Kevin York (29:09) were next to finish. Ruth Goddard (30:13) and Tyree Spicer (30:20) both set new personal best times, and they were closely followed by Mel Cox who finished in 30:24. Rachel Oliver was next to complete the run in 31:40, and two more personal bests were set by Allison Button (34:37) and Danielle Moss (38:07).
Kath Atkinson, Peter Lane and Cris Francis were part of this week’s volunteer team.
Further afield Rebecca Hurley ran at the Northala Parkrun setting a time of 28:39.
Great South Run
Kath Atkinson continued her impressive form finishing the 10 mile course in a fantastic 1:17:26. Nicola Crawley was not far behind, running an excellent time of 1:30:52. Ruth Goddard, Libby Matthews and Tyree Spicer ran as a team collectively finishing the course in 1:52:46.
