Ashford Parkrun

Ashford Striders men led the way at this week’s Parkrun, with Daniel Forbes in 34th place in a time of 23:26, followed by Josh Whiten in 36th who set a new PB in a time of 23:31, and Cris Francis close behind in 39th place and a with a time of 23:40.

Justin Burden was next to finish in 25:06, with Jason Sanders (27:06) and Stephen Rumsey (27:07), Mark Archer (28:18) and David Gadsby (29:50) all completing the run in under 30 minutes. Rachel Oliver set a new personal best time of 30:15, with Rachel Brisley (30:20) and Kevin York (30:21) just behind. Katie Iggulden Exon (30:54), Simon Jackson (31:17) and Hazel Forrester (32:06) completed the Striders times.

Parkrun Tourism

Striders Kath Atkinson travelled to her homeland of South Africa and ran in the Piggly Wiggly parkrun, finishing in 12th position overall and 2nd place for the ladies in a time of 24:16, setting a new PB for the course.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Xmas 10k

Several Striders took part in the Christmas run in London with several new personal best 10k times being set on the course.

Linda-Jean Delport continued her excellent run of form setting a new 10k PB of 44:10, and was also 1st in her age category and 11th female finisher overall. Lee Standen also improved on his previous 10k PB in a time of 53:20. Willem Delport came in at 57:03, with Justine Wearn finishing under the hour mark in 59:47 and Libby Matthews finishing in 1:05:15. Danielle Moss also finished the year with a PB of 1:19:58.

SVN Samphire Hoe Challenge

Ruth Goddard completed her 44th Marathon run at the Samphire Hoe Festive Frolic Challenge on Sunday 16th December, in a time of 6:33:13. Nicola Barton and Rebecca Hurley completed a half marathon distance in 2:25:35 and 2:33:51 respectively and James Batcheller ran 9.85 miles of the course in 1:51:30.

Great Run Local

Nicola Crawley took part in Ashford’s Great Run Local 5k at Kingsnorth on Sunday morning, finishing in a time of 26:25
