Another week has passed with plenty of great running from the all famous Ashford Striders!
We managed to escape the great storm that was heading our way on Saturday morning and settled with some rain☔️
A total of 47 Strider’s took part in a Parkrun, 33 in Ashford, 14 on tour:
ASHFORD PARKRUN
Jason Caldwell was first strider over the line in a time of 21:31, followed by Kevin North 22:14, Harry Scott 22:18 and Dan Green 22:24. All very close together there guys in the 22 minute club! Next we have Harry Lockhart in a time of 24:30, Linda-Jean Delport 25:06, Carole Thomas 26:10 and Terry Sellen 26:57. Following was Don Dewar 26:59, Ian McCutcheon 27:33, Hazel Turner 29:10 and David Martins 29:42. We have a few in the 30 minute club this weekend. Starting off our line up, neck and neck we have Robert Harris 30:10, followed by Pav Jogoda-Souch 30:10. Seconds apart was Adam Booth 30:13, Jason Brice 30:14, Ombeline Marone-Hitz 30:16 and Amanda Watson 30:18! Behind was David Helme in a time of 31:27. Aimee Donahue who welcomed the rain until she noticed her dirty trainers…finished in 33:08. Marion Fitzpatrick completed the course in 33:36, Rachel Oliver in 33:53. Andy Found and Justine Wearn finished together in a time of 35:11, with Jason Wearn just behind in 35:14. Sarah Martins was next finishing in 35:41, Penny Grigg in 36:37. Amy Hook is going from strength to strength achieving another PB with a time of 37:13. Congrats Amy! Jennifer Watts finished in 38:09, Leigh Freeman 38:34, Clare Nunn 39:49. Last but certainly not least was Rick Newman and guide Sara Dewar in times of 44:28 and 44:29.

ALBERT MELBOURNE
Taking parkrun tourism to new distances was Nicola Crawley who hunted out a parkrun during her trip to Australia!🇦🇺 Nicola completed the course in a time of 35:00. Enjoy your holiday Nic!
DOVER WATERFRONT PARKRUN
Taking on the flat course along Dover seafront was Simon Pharoah and Maria Chapman. Simon finished in 4th place, in a time of 17:55, whilst Maria finished in 28:34. Well done to you both!
LEYBOURNE LAKES
A solo strider, Lee Gribben headed to Leybourne lakes parkrun and completed in a time of 26:29.
MILFIELD PARKRUN
Completing Milfield Parkrun was Lin West, finishing in a time of 37:40.
WAKEHURST PARKRUN
A group of Striders headed to Wakehurst Parkrun to complete two clockwise laps of possibly the most beautiful botanical gardens in the country along super-wide, resin and tarmac paths surrounding the Elizabethan mansion. First over the line was Justin Burden in a time of 27:00, followed by Daniel Schwartz in 28:26, Lee Standen 31:57, Rachel Tomsett 34:20, Dee Millen 37:24, Martin Whittingham 38:51, Nige Terry 39:28, Richard Randle 39:37 and finally Laura Clark in 48:17. Well done to you all!
WHITSTABLE AND HERNE BAY SUMMER 10K
The Hammonds, who have well and truly caught the racing bug, headed to the coast to take on the coastal 10k. Lionel crossed the line in a time of 55:48 with Donna finishing in 1:10:21. A PB for them both – great running!
SANDWICH 10K
A group of Strider’s headed down to Sandwich to compete the 10k this morning.
First Strider over the line was Kevan Strand, in an impressive time of 42:41, and a shiny new PB! Following was Gary Tiley finishing in 46:09, another PB! Next was Scott Hawkins with a time of 50:19, another PB! Jamie Bartlett was the next Strider with a time of 53:48. First Strider lady was Amanda James with a course PB of 57:51. With a little bit of work to do before catching her mum, Rebecca James crossed the line with a course PB of 58:52. Close behind was Jayne Hatton finishing in 59:13. Last but certainly not least was our Chairman, Andy Found finishing in a time of 1:01:06! A great turn out and a lovely handful of PB’s!! Well done all👏
I would also like to include the amazing achievements of Richard Randle and Andrew Cornwell who both completed the TriBourne Half Iron man today. Brilliant!!!🤩
That concludes another week of running. Congratulations to everyone who has taken that step to keep running. Regardless of whether you are reaching PB’s, or simply just making sure you’re keeping one foot in front of another, you are all awesome!❤️
