Ashford Striders Run Report w/e 24/11/2024

We ended the week sheltering from Storm Bert but thankfully he held off long enough to allow some of the counties parkruns go ahead. A total of 41 Striders attended a Parkrun on 23/11/24, 37 at Ashford and 4 on tour.

The only race of the weekend was the Swanley Cross Country! Our Strider ladies completed the self titled ‘Brutal’ 5 mile course in wet and windy conditions and earned the hero status they deserve! First over the line was Elle Weekes in 44:12, followed by Vicky Shrubsole in a new 5 mile PB time of 49:36. Sliding around next was Nicola Crawley in 51:48. Last to speed over the line was Rachel Tomsett in 55:00! Well done ladies what an impressive performance by you all.

Well done this week everyone, whether you ran, raced or went for a leisurely dip in the icy sea.

Ashford Striders Run report w/e 3/11/24
Ashford Parkrun run report
A total of 55 Striders attended a Parkrun on 02/11/24 , 28 at Ashford, and 27 on tour.

On Saturday the Movember 10k and half marathon took place. Adrian Green, and Alice Foulger completed the half with PB’s of 1:35:23 and 1:54:35 respectively, while Kevin North completed the half in 1:54.
Kay Hunt completed the 10k in 54:57.

Lisa Gribbin completed the Supernova Forth Road Bridge 5k in 27:24.

After the cancellation of the Great South Run 2 weeks ago, Ross and Sharon McInnes completed their virtual 10 miles to claim their medals in 1:56:20 and 1:53:40 respectively, a PB for both of them.

W/C 14th October 2024

A total of 58 Striders attended a Parkrun on 19/10/2024, 41 at Ashford, and 17 on tour.

Joe Fowler went a little further to Bisham Parkrun in Singapore!! I hear it was a little warm, but the amazing sights made up for it. Joe finished in a time of 30:12 - well done!!

HOWLETTS 5K
A few Strider’s headed to Howletts to complete a 5k amongst the animals. First home was Josh Stephens who completed the course in a time of 22:51, a new PB! Next was Aimee Donohue in a time of 27:49. Followed by Angie Craffey, 32:56 and Dave Winchester 43:22.

GOVERNOR BACK YARD ULTRA
Lisa Gribbin took on the 7 hour edition ultra. Lisa completed an amazing distance of 29.65 miles in a time of 7:00:00.

MAIDSTONE HALF MARATHON
David Helme took on the hilly Maidstone half marathon course, and completed in a time of 2:18:03. #race #run #running #ashfordstriders #friends #parkrun
