Ashford Parkrun

29 members of Ashford Striders represented the club as runners and volunteers at a sunny 5k at Victoria Park on Saturday morning, with several members setting new personal best times.

Duncan Forbes led the way home for Striders, finishing in 19:59 and 8th position overall. Linda-Jean Delport was 3rd female finisher and 24th overall, setting a new personal best time of 22:05 in the process.

Jason Wearn and Greg Johnson battled to a sprint finish, with Wearn taking 41st place and Johnson 42nd, both posting times of 23:09. James Miller set a new PB finishing strongly in 50th place and 23:38, closely followed by Jason Sanders (23:51, 54th place) and Daniel Forbes (24:02, 59th place).

Reece Corner was next to finish in 25:14, followed by Simon Jackson in 26:27 and Stephen Rumsey in 26:29. Rachel Forrester finished as 30th placed lady in 27:33, followed by Rachel Brisley (27:51), Tyree Spicer (27:56 – new personal best time), Kevin York (27:56), and Tamsin Ritchie (28:06).

Rachel Oliver was another Strider who achieved a new personal best in a sub-30 minute 29:46.

Mel Cox was next past the finish in 29:58, with Mark Archer (31:09), Martin Whittingham (31:17) and Brian Forrester (31:22). Libby Matthews (32:01) was next to finish and Toyah Bicker (32:47) also set a new personal best. She was followed by Hazel Forrester (33:30), Kirsty Theobald (37:17) and Allison Button (37:24).

Alison Waters, Cris Francis, Ian Dunning, Lee Standen and Simon Jackson all provided volunteer support.

Phoenix Jaw Dropper Marathon

Ruth Goddard took part in the event on an out and back course along the river Thames, setting a time of 7 hours 3 minutes and 47 seconds for the marathon distance.

SVN Moonlight Ultra Marathon

Helen Weeden took part in the evening event at Reculver. She completed 31.25 miles in a time of 7 hours, 5 minutes and 12 seconds.
